It's spooky season, and I'm ready to hear some spooky, scary, and maybe funny stories. I'll start.
I first moved here about 10 years ago. I worked downtown and at about 5am every morning I would see this guy with a white sheet over his head.
I only saw him a few times, and nobody believed me because I didn't have picture proof. Sometimes I wonder if it was real myself lol

Home invasion when I lived over in Brainerd. Two dudes with ski masks, one with a rifle and one with a pistol. Had my (ex)wife and I on the floor until they discovered my gun safe, which was new and still practically empty. Dude pressed a gun to my temple while I fumbled with the brand new combination lock. I gave them what they wanted and they left without further incident, but I had PTSD for at least a year over that shit
This happened almost 20 years ago and my family and I are all good. Thanks so much for the well-wishes. I may not reply immediately, but I'm open to any and all questions if you got any.
⬇️ follow up questions about the experience
- OP: I was selling weed and they knew it.
- OP: I was pretty young and careless at the time. I put my kids and (ex)wife in danger and I deeply regret it. I knew that the cash and weed weren't worth more than my family, so I got them what they wanted and they left. I was lucky.
- OP: I totally just let it go. Police couldn't have done anything about it anyway.

I was cornered by a man in a hoodie when I worked on McCallie Ave.
The place I worked opened at 7:00 am on Saturdays, so it was still dark when I pulled up to the side of the building. When I got out of my car, I noticed a man in a hoodie staring at me from the sidewalk. Being a paranoid petite girl, I reached back into my center console of my car for my taser just to be safe. When I stood back up he was at my passenger side door and proceed to slowly walk around the car towards me, cornering me between my car and the building. I was so scared, but I managed to build up enough courage to start screaming and cussing at him. At that point, he simply turned around and walked away. He never said a word, and I never saw him again.
We started opening at 8:00 am on Saturdays after that.
Fast forward to that following Monday, one of people living in the houses behind our building came in to let us know that they had to call the police on a man who was peeping through their window at their very young daughter. They were able to take a photo of the guy before calling the police. It was the same dude, in the exact same hoodie. The police eventually found him hiding in our dumpster. If I remember correctly, he had previously been convicted of… nonconsensual sexual activities, if you catch my meaning.

- drug deal gone bad
- Cave rescue in Ruby Falls, Chattanooga
- Hunter road is notoriously dangerous and has had a lot of deaths (might be better for a travel episode)
